The Public Policy function is a small but influential team operating globally. Within Global Public Policy (GPP) we work closely with global regulators, standard-setters and other stakeholders on policy areas impacting EY operations. We also coordinate and collaborate closely with each of the EY Area Public Policy teams to ensure a consistent EY view on policy matters that have a global reach.

In so doing, we aim to better articulate the value that EY brings to the global capital markets, thereby increasing trust in the capital markets and helping to Build a Better Working World.

 

Your key responsibilities

Working with a network of colleagues across EY, the GPP Supervising Associate will be responsible for supporting development and implementation of EY global public policy initiatives. He or she will work closely with the Global Vice Chair, Public Policy and the Global Deputy Vice Chair, Public Policy, and public policy Area leaders across the globe.

The role will develop relevant content (e.g., presentation, talking points, point of views, etc.) that will be used to facilitate GPP’s engagement with Stakeholders, both externally and internally, including EY Global leadership. In addition, the role will involve monitoring, researching, analyzing and reporting on global public policy and stakeholder perspectives of interest to EY and the accounting profession (e.g., in areas such as climate change, technology, data privacy, long-term value, the future of assurance, etc.)

The role will forge effective professional relationships within the organization across multiple functions including Service Lines, Office of General Counsel, Risk Management and Communications.

 

The role will support the Global Vice Chair and Global Deputy Vice Chair in optimizing interactions with and further develop relationships with public policy stakeholders, including through close monitoring of policy and regulatory developments.

The role will develop and maintain content for internal and external public policy websites and social media to assist EY regulatory and public policy partners in engaging with external stakeholders on policy issues and to present EY views and perspectives on the most current policy issues affecting the business.

 

Skills and attributes for success

Ability to identify and analyze public policy developments, put them into context and identify/communicate key concerns and insights.

Ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks from multiple supervisors, on varying topics.

Agility to pivot to emerging issues and tasks of an urgent nature.

Website and social media maintenance with current thought leadership and points of view relevant to key public policy issues important to our business

Appropriately tailor communications to different types of internal and external audiences

Ability to navigate across EY’s service lines and functions at a Global and Area level 

 

To qualify for the role you must have

· 
5+ years experience in professional services or public policy; financial services experience (preferred)

· 
A strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, transparently, virtually and independently

· 
Ability to synthesize complex information from various resources

· 
Business and commercial acumen to understand EY’s business and the potential impact of regulation

· 
Ability to work in a fast pace environment, managing multiple priorities effectively

· 
Strong analytical and written English skills

· 
Good communication skills

· 
Ability to deal with unexpected or last-minute requests, while executing more regular tasks and projects

· 
Demonstrable integrity and discretion with sensitive and confidential information

Ideally, you’ll also have

· 
Knowledge of reporting, audit, tax and/or economic crime issues

· 
Project Management skills

· 
MS Office and other media skills

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree is required

Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ work experience (or graduate degree plus 3 years’ work experience)

 

Certification Requirements:

NLA
