EY - GDS – Global Vendor Management - Vendor Transformation Owner

As part of EY GDS, the Vendor Transformation Owner (VTO) will oversee the vendor transformation initiatives in our newly formed Global Vendor Management Organization.

The opportunity

We’re looking for an Associate Director who would own the transformation initiatives and be responsible for the successful execution of vendor transformation initiatives. The VTO will provide directions to our vendor and facilitate decision making. VTO requires close collaboration with various role in Global VMO, including Vendor Commercial Owner, Vendor Contract Owner, Vendor Risk/ Compliance Owner, business operation, EY IT, EY GCO and finance.

Your key responsibilities

·  Vendor Transformation Owner is responsible for forming collaboration and innovation to set strategy and initiatives for business process, digital, technology and organizational transformation to drive optimization, efficiency, effectiveness and cost reduction

·  Lead transformation programs, automation and process transition projects using innovative, agile and project management tools and techniques in the strategic development, change management and implementation

·  Work with the Global VMO leadership in coordinating and managing the annual vendor transformation team's delivery calendar and Roadmap

·  Oversee vendor transformation and transition initiatives and be the point of contact and the owner for the transformation initiatives within the contract

·  Provide guidance to and oversight of multiple large-scale and high-impact transition projects, including the development of implementation frameworks to operationalize new services

·  Create framework to identify new service, replicate or expand the services across regions and countries and work with the vendor transformation team to transition and implement the services

·  Own transition initiatives to integrate and implement new vendor products and services

·  Performs rapid assessment of current landscape and able to provide insights around hypotheses and solutions

·  Perform the management of the tactical and strategic relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment to transformation objectives

·  Performance Gain Share assessment on vendor automation proposal, synthesizes and communicate detailed contractual information in support of an effective decision making process

·  Engage and liaise with relevant internal stakeholders such as IT, Legal, Finance and external stakeholders to facilitate development and implementation of automation projects

·  Collaborates and partners with both internal stakeholders and vendors to define and implement the overall transformation strategy, scope, financial, timeline, risks, dependency, resource needs and alignment to strategic imperatives

·  Ensures appropriate governance is in place and adhere to the contractual obligations

·  Facilitate implementation of continuous process improvements within vendor management program

·  Leads quality assurance processes to ensure solutions are properly tested consistent with test cases and acceptance criteria

·  Provides status reports to Global VMO leadership and senior leadership. Serves as point-person for internal and external project communications; ensures that transition and transformation milestones, completion dates, costs, contingencies are communicated to all stakeholders

·  Engage and liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal, IT, business or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets to minimize potential losses and benefits

·  Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and Member Firms about contractual obligations

·  Lead and contributes as an effective team member and takes accountability for deliverables and ownership of program outcomes

·  Work with Vendor Contract Owners, Vendor Commercial Owners and Vendor risk and compliance owners to regularly monitor and review transformation initiatives performance against SLAs.

·  Being prepared to speak credibly and confidently about technology and ability to identify opportunities to solve business issues

·  Deploy consulting best practice experience in the undertaken assignment

·  Manages project risks and issues, determining a course of action, considering contractual constraints and objectives enabling continued project progress

·  Bringing diverse and thought-provoking perspectives and EY views to explore solutions with vendors

·  Assist in establishing new contracts as part of divestitures, working closely with other EY functions

·  Provide project support to drive efficiency and price new vendor products and services

·  Perform the evaluation of operations of vendors against agreed service levels

·  Works with business owners, vendor management and other departments as required to help resolve vendor issues and to obtain and review vendor documentation

·  Assists Vendor Management with due diligence and oversight activities to include review of financial performance, reports over internal controls

·  Assist with internal audit/compliance review processes for vendors

·  Develop and manage knowledge repository to use across vendor projects

Skills and attributes for success

·  Fluent in English – written and verbal

·  Understanding of standard project methodologies - project initiation, current state analysis, future state design, process design, implementation and project transition/close

·  Experience with Project Transition and Transformation with project management certification is desirable (PRINCE II, PMI, Agile etc.)

·  Design thinking skills/certification and excellent skills with power point and storytelling approach

·  Continuously advising leadership team on expected project performance vs. contractual obligations

·  Good analytical, judgment, tact and decision-making ability along with critical thinking skills

·  Able to work in a self-sufficient manner, operating across multiple vendors

·  Strong facilitation skills with senior stakeholders in driving decisions and consensus

·  Understands the commercial drivers of vendor performance

·  Focuses on contractual solutions that drive continuous improvement of vendor performance

·  Navigates the full extent of accessible EY resources to deliver effective solutions

·  Demonstrates the ability to apply a forward thinking EY focused lens to developing business solutions

·  Forms and communicates a clear and concise view of contractual performance

·  Demonstrates the ability to challenge assumptions and decisions in an appropriate manner

·  Delivers cogent messages, encompassing contractual/financial analysis and recommendations

·  Demonstrates appreciation and respect of varying cultures – both corporate and geographical

 To qualify for the role, you must have

·  Completion of a four-year college degree (e.g. Bachelor’s degree) is required to perform this position, graduate level education and or professional certification is recommended

·  10-12+ Years of relevant consulting experience with at least 6+ Years of transformation / management experience in BPO environment is required

·  Strategy or Domain experience in one of the domains – Finance, HR, Risk, Procurement, Technology

·  Ability to guide, lead and coach client leadership / project teams across the lifecycle of complex programs and strategic initiatives
Certification Requirements

·  Certification in Project Management - PRINCE II, PMP, Agile

·  Six Sigma Certification

·  Certification in Change Management, Design Thinking will be an advantage

·  Certification in Facilitation is desirable

Ideally, you’ll also have

·  Experience in management of senior stakeholder relationships at CXO, Partner or Functional Head level
