Internship Brussels (Brussel-Hoofdstad - Bruxelles-Capitale)
Job description
The Business Unit Marketing & Sales , located in Brussels , is looking for a Data Scientist.
Your mission
· you discover patterns and relationships in customer data sets and perform statistical & machine learning analyses in order to deliver meaningful insights about our customers and prospects (behavior, profitability, profile, etc.) and to allow better targeting of our commercial and care activities
· you develop, monitor and update predictive models enabling M&S to predict customer behavior (churn, payment behavior, move, etc.)
· you provide statistical support/governance to Market Research team (which launches market studies) and to other teams (HR, Communication, etc.) within ENGIE Electrabel
· you encourage a culture of data-driven decision making as part of the customer journey in an increasingly digital world
· you give advice on the IT analytical infrastructure needed and the computational and statistical capabilities to enhance business results and decision
· you collaborate with many internal customers: Marketing, Digital team, Sales, Go4- Services,… You always align your proposed planning for delivery of new reports/changes of existing reports with the internal customers
· you challenge pro-actively the new demands and come to an agreement with your internal customer regarding your new demand
· you always make sure the information provided in your reporting or communication is presented in a understandable way and brings value to the internal Customer
· you ensure that all analyses are efficiently delivered: in due time and with consistent check regarding the quality of deliverables
· you maintain and develop strong relationships with both Data solutions, Financial and Regulatory Reporting as well as Data architecture teams within Data & Settlement
· you research enthusiastically the Data science discipline, reading, networking, researching in order to stay at the top of their game
Your Profile
· master degree or equivalent with 5 years relevant experience
· degree with a specialisation in: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical fields. Advanced degrees preferred but not required
· ability to use data science tools and technologies such as SAS, SQL, Python and R, and Big data tools (Apache Spark or Hadoop)
· knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like Power BI, Excel & Access, and of operational systems in place (IRIS/E4U) will be highly appreciated
· efficient with data collection and analytics
· good algorithm design abilities: experience of conducting complex statistical and machine learning analyses, combining data sets from various sources
· good knowledge of electricity and gas data model: focus on business needs understanding
· data visualisation, communication skills and synthesis capabilities. The ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner
· ability to interact with diverse groups (including executives, managers and business experts) and build solid and effective working relationships
· autonomy to perform her/his activities and strong team work spirit
· ability to analyze digital channels – including web, social, mobile, email marketing
· fluent in French/Dutch and understand English
