ENGIE has an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Correspondent. You will help to ensure the SSC complies with all relevant privacy-related legislation and employees are fully informed of their own responsibilities for acting within the law. 

Role Overview

· 
Provide advice for the Shared Service Centre (SSC) and help embed a compliant culture in regards to data protection

· 
Raise awareness of data protection requirements and SSC employee’s responsibilities around data protection;

· 
Ensure that the organisation has proper risk-based systems of control over the personal data that it processes and deals promptly and professionally with requests for information.  

· 
Able to develop and deliver guidance, advice and training to staff about their responsibilities regarding data protection

· 
Take an active role in privacy impact assessments (PIA)

· 
Undertake SSC data compliance reviews; 

· 
Ensure all suppliers and data processors are aware of the UKBU Data Protection Policy

Professional Experience 

·  Previous experience in a similar role 
·  Excellent understanding of the practical application of relevant legislation (including GDPR) and official guidance relating to processing of personal data
·  Confidence in providing advice to staff at all levels across the organisation
·  A good understanding of data storage, retrieval and information security
·  Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
