Missions:

The Performance Improvement VIE will deliver projects that improve railroad on-time performance using a structured, project-based approach. These projects will require working with complex datasets, problem-solving using a structured root cause analysis method, and implementing solutions with a bias for action-style approach.

-Improve on-time performance of a line to target. This project will require working with the line's route manager, gaining insight from a proper mix of data analysis and field studies, and driving action in a prioritized way.
-Build and implement analysis tools to effectively identify areas in the operation that pose the highest level of risk for performance. These tools will fit into a larger suite of operations analysis & validation tools.
-Work with the performance team's data analysts to establish a data system to gain insight from a new source of data (automated passenger counters). This project will require working with complex and potentially lower-quality datasets, managing the data integration of different data sources, and presenting insights gained in a meaningful way that is accessible and used by the business.

Your technical Skills :

Excel (VBA, Power Pivot, SQL preferred but not necessary.
Ability to analyze complex datasets.
Root cause analysis & problem solving.
