Air Liquide procures and sells through its products very large amounts of energy. The VIE position is in the heart of this activity, in the team of SEGE (Société Européenne de Gestion de l’ Energie). SEGE is the core of European energy sourcing for the Air Liquide Group. It provides energy-related services to all Europe Industries Affiliates for the management of their energy exposure, market analysis and the sourcing and supply of energy (natural gas, power, carbon emissions and green certificates).

SEGE is organized as a trading desk in which you will be part of the Front Office, which includes management of the systems for Data Analytics with support of the Digital Manager. You will also be in close contact with the European Digital department. These data systems are of key importance for the SEGE energy trading team and the European entities, both for operations and for the development of sourcing strategies. SEGE has access to real-time market data from all over the world and uses this to design, build and operate advanced cloud-based market intelligence systems for energy trading portfolio and risk management.

SEGE consists of a small, young and dynamic team with a startup mentality and has been successfully operating for almost a decade. It has launched a multi-year Digital Transformation Programme that aims to improve the performance of energy strategies and enhance execution of operational energy processes through more sophisticated use of data and digital technologies. An ambitious digital roadmap is ahead and you will take part in developing this strategic initiative.

Your mission as Digital & Data Energy Officer is to support the development of the Digital Transformation Programme (under the guidance of the Digital Manager in the Energy Trading Front Office) and to make sure that the systems are meeting the business requirements of the European Energy Trading team. As part of this role, your responsibilities will be to administer, maintain and adapt to the business needs of SEGE’s applications:
? A newly developed (2019) market intelligence platform and associated services, with real-time market data through SaaS provided by MorningStar.
? Data lake and warehouse with advanced dashboarding capabilities (powerBI) to support advanced energy sourcing and top management strategy visualization.
? Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solution, PaaS mode, hosted in a private cloud, at the core of recording, analyzing the trading activity.

You will be in charge of the management of the Master Data and maintain the interfaces with the internal (SEGE) and external (European affiliates) applications. The energy trading team uses advanced price analytics that these new platforms deliver. You will contribute to continuous improvement of the functioning of the tools, the cloud data processing, supervision of the provided services and contact with the (licensed) data source, and the user interfaces. You will also support the European affiliates in the usage of the tools, as well as help in identifying further needs and contribute the implementation of improvements in these tools

As Digital & Data Energy Officer, you will be fully involved in the digital transformation program launched by SEGE. In particular, you will take part in the development of the LI Energy Data & BI platform, a data warehouse in which all energy-related external and internal AL data will be stored providing:
- A single source of truth for downstream systems
- Proper data governance and data management
- Enabling advanced data analytics and sophisticated BI capabilities
- Development of Proof-of-Concept projects for new energy strategies

Candidate profile
Master in ** Data Analytics, Digital Engineering, Business Information Systems **
Motivated by delivering data systems supporting a business which requires high analytical capabilities, data management, a variety of (private) cloud services and process automation.
Strong interest in energy markets, trading and/or energy transition
VBA, Python, Java and/or Google Script
Business Intelligence tools experience would be a plus
Autonomous
