Description

BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the shared services center has nearly 700 employees and provides functional services in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Information Services, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Procurement and Import-Export Order Management Services to BASF companies and affiliates in 17 markets across the Asia Pacific region. BASF has three other shared services centers located in Berlin and Ludwigshafen in Germany and in Montevideo, Uruguay, that cover Europe and the Americas.

Objective

·  Deliver reporting services to Controllers, in accordance with established Controlling processes and work procedures and in compliance with functional standards and guidelines.
·  To support and back up other reporting specialist.
·  Ensure that timelines and quality meet the agreed service levels and targets.
·  To produce interactive data visualization products focused on business intelligence. Job Responsibilities

·  Dashboard creation or development by using business analytics/data visualization tools to simplify data preparation, produce interactive visualization reports and drive ad hoc analysis.
·  Perform management reporting activities in line with quality standard and on schedule including data collection, data processing, reporting generation and basic business analysis for specific BASF units and divisions.
·  Prepare for upcoming reporting including updating/adjusting report templates and maintaining queries (in case of changes in reporting or business organization).
·  Collect relevant data from accounting and controlling systems (e.g. SAP, BW) depending on report and/or business request.
·  Structure and reconcile basic data in preparation for further processing and report generation, ensure data quality and consistency (give meaning to data).
·  Resolve and clarify issues directly with controlling counterparts in continuous and close interaction.
·  Manage completion of financially oriented reports based on standards or business-specific requirements.
·  Support of good practice solutions in close cooperation with Business Reporting Experts and business partners.
·  Support strategic plan and objectives of Business Units.
·  Support implementation of optimization potential in reports, processes and systems. Plan and coordinate implementation of improvement measures in close cooperation with Business Reporting Experts and business partners.
·  Support in performing testing on any new Business Release in the system, timely feedback on report faults/errors to expedite roll out of automation.
·  Support cross companies (Legal entities) and cross BU queries and clarification pertaining to business analyses.
·  Manage timely completion of financially oriented reports based on standards or business-specific requirements.
·  Analyze relevant financial data and identify significant developments; provide initial basic commentary on reports and individual figures. Requirements Education

·  Degree in Business Admin or Accounting or Finance Working Experience

·  2 years of experience in Business Planning and Controlling or General Accounting & Reporting or other accounting functions (Experience dealing with Business Units Controlling is an added advantage)
·  Experience in SAP FI/CO module is preferred
·  Experience in SAP B/W is preferred Technical & Professional Knowledge:

·  Experience in Controlling task that support business units
·  Knowledge and experience of MS office tools
·  Proficiency in English and other languages as required , with good communication skill
·  External experience in a shared service or business process outsourcing engagement will be an added advantage.
·  Experience working in a MNC or Malaysian Public listed company is also preferred
·  Experience in SAP FI/CO Module ; Cost and Performance Accounting (Cost center accounting, Cost allocation, Cost analysis, Cost classification)
·  Experience in SAP BW is an added advantage
