Where the Chemistry Happens

 

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as Reliability Engineer, a discipline-specific role with a long-term and strategic focus.  In this role, you will be responsible for driving reliability performance by using the most appropriate and effective tools and techniques.  You will also provide technical support to Production and Maintenance personnel, lead or participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses and monitor KPI data for early identification and resolution of reliability issues.  You may also collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel and provide services related to design review, repair and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities.  Additionally, you will provide technical support for troubleshooting of problems and optimization of PM and PdM programs. Lastly, you will ensure a culture of continuous improvement, employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.

Formula for Success 


·  Your extensive knowledge of reliability tools, practices, and other common equipment associated with a manufacturing facility will be essential as you apply appropriate reliability tools to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness. Tools may include (but not limited to) Bad Actor Program, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc. Using your excellent computer skills including SAP, CMMS software, manufacturing software, spreadsheets and word processing software, you will lead the lubrication program for the site through the utilization of Lube-it software.  You will also use these skills to ensure the development and sustenance of a Critical Equipment list.Relying on your strong background in equipment troubleshooting, including root cause failure analysis and implementation of improvement efforts, you will lead Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA’s) and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.Demonstrating your thorough background in the utilization of PdM tools (vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, thermography, etc.) for equipment condition evaluation and improvement and your knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance, you will lead the Bad Actor Program and create action plans for improving reliability.Utilizing your background in the optimization of equipment PM activities and strategies, you will identify and implement mechanical best practices across the site.Your thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment will be a valued asset as you evaluate new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair, seeking cost and delivery advantages.Being team oriented and able to lead and direct members of the maintenance team, you will assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources.Leveraging your education and professional background in Engineering, you will support capital projects by supplying your engineering expertise in the specification, design, construction, and implementation of maintenance practices in accordance with BASF standards and regulatory requirements. Your effective communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you coordinate with maintenance, production and storeroom personnel to establish and maintain the proper stocking levels of parts and equipment required to provide maximum equipment uptime at the lowest possible costs.Demonstrating your solid understanding of maintenance and reliability work processes such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design, you will assist the site Process Safety Manager in maintaining the vessel, piping, IR and relief device programs.   Create Your Own Chemistry: What We Offer You
