QC Lab Technician II (1904374) – Battle Creek, MI

 

The QC Laboratory in Battle Creek MI is part of the BASF Toda America (BTA) battery materials manufacturing plant. We provide direct analytical support to our cathode active materials production facility through regular inspection of raw materials and finished products. The laboratory is operating in a high volume, deadline driven, fast paced environment. The main focus of the QC team is to provide accurate and precise data to our customers in a timely manner. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine physical and chemical tests using different laboratory equipment and software. The QC lab technician will also be responsible for the following…

·  Leveraging your education in chemistry or a related scientific discipline combined with your work experience, you will use the techniques of titration, BET surface area measurement, XRD analysis, particle size distribution and material composition determination via ICP.
·  Demonstrate your team player attitude by providing secondary support to other lab technicians in doing different physical and chemical analysis
·  Maintain safe work environment by following standards, procedures and complying with legal regulations
·  Execute analytic methods to deliver data to assess quality of our raw materials and products
·  Ensure that the data is accurately captured by following procedures and reported on time
·  Develop and execute plans for routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
·  Prepare and maintain control charts and trend charts for each of the tested parameters
·  Exhibit good analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root cause of non-conforming data and implement appropriate corrective actions
·  Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve the reliability or efficiency of our quality testing
·  Identify and execute projects required to maintain the laboratory including routine repairs of equipment
·  Learn new QC methods developed by Production Technology so that they can be successfully implemented in the QC lab.

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related discipline

·  Experience working in a laboratory environment
·  Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
