Ecotoxicologist III (2100171) – Research Triangle Park, NC

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to provide ecotoxicology expertise, especially in the area of honeybee and other insect pollinator safety, for the maintenance and development of agricultrual chemical products including, the determination of ecotoxicology data requirements, and the monitoring of ecotoxicology study progress and the summarization of results.  You will analyze ecotoxicology data for products to determine ecological health hazard and perform risk assessments to demonstrate level of safety.  You will also perform product steward responsibilities for assigned new and existing products under the supervision of Sr. Manager, Ecotoxicology.  The emphasis is on support for North American and European registrations however, you will also function as worldwide ecotoxicology lead for selected products.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

·  Leveraging your education in environmental toxicology, environmental science or entomology with an emphasis on pollinator ecotoxicology, and your experience with FIFRA-regulated chemicals, you will design and monitor ecotoxicology studies at contract research facilities to ensure scientific validity and compliance with international testing guidelines.
·  Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work closely with Product Registration Managers and other data development functions and business colleagues in a team environment for successful support for development of agricultural products. 
·  Demonstrating your expertise in ecotoxicology or biology of honeybees or other insect pollinators, you will serve on North American Product Development teams and provide ecotoxicology expertise, especially in the area of insect pollinator toxicology, to the team.
·  Your strong computer skills will be essential as you prepare ecotoxicology summary documents and risk assessments needed for North American and European regulatory agencies.
·  Your effective communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you give presentations on environmental safety of products to regulatory and business colleagues, and North American and European regulatory agencies. Focused on continued learning, you will attend seminars, training courses, and professional association meetings to maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory ecotoxicology requirements and risk assessment paradigms related to honeybees and other insect pollinators.
