GI Efficiency Finance Business Partner

Job description

We're looking for an Efficiency Finance Business Partner for our Ireland GI Business, reporting directly to the Business Performance Management Lead.

You will support the team by leading annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process,  support end to end expense management with the business owners which will include but not limited to monthly tracking, reporting & challenging the business across aspects of expenses.

You will also be responsible for transforming the current expense management processes to ensure outstanding approach using automation with appropriate control measures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monthly review and challenge of costs to ensure there is a clear view of the rationale for deviations to expectation
  • Support cost centre owners in identifying cost efficiencies and/or value add processes
  • Understand all costs in each function and cost centre
  • Work across different business functions & partner with the business to provide insightful analysis on current & future performance to enable achievement of targets
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports, analysis and commentary as required
  • Ensure all balance sheet expense accruals are reviewed on a monthly basis and any intercompany variances are understood
  • Ownership of forecasting models and preparing 3-year forecasts, in conjunction with the business owners, including group reporting for planning submissions

Expense Partnering

  • Complete monthly ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Support business owners on business cases as required
  • Maintain relationships and lead in all expense related tasks and ensuring that service levels provided are in line with expectations
  • Work with the business functions to develop their cost management champions to ensure the onus is on the business to manage their cost with Finance support

Risk & Controls

  • Ensuring all audit & risk monitoring actions are closed within timescales
  • Adherence to requirements of risk policies and business standards

Skills & Experience required

  • Qualified Accountant with significant equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at senior management level
  • Good working knowledge of professional standards and codes
  • Excellent understanding of financial drivers & metrics
