As a Fraud Investigator, you will detect, prevent, investigate, provide feedback and create awareness of fraud and suspected fraud arising within Argos Financial Services; to minimise financial and reputational loss whilst continuing to adhere to key regulatory guidelines.

This is a permanent opportunity, working 35 hours per week between the operation hours of 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday, and 9am – 5pm on Saturday.

As a Fraud Investigator, your main responsibilities will be:

Review reported cases of fraud on applications and accounts for the Argos store card to confirm or refute the claim of fraud.
To use judgement and experience to assess each case referred to ensure minimal inconvenience to the customer and prevent monetary and reputational loss to the Company.
To liaise and feedback at all levels internally and externally to ensure that processes are adhered to and enhanced where necessary.
To continually strive to improve, enhance and challenge existing processes and procedures and add value to Argos Financial Services.
To provide regular guidance, support and advice to Contact Centre Team Managers.
To operate and comply within the rules of CIFAS.
To provide training, support and guidance to Fraud Support Advisors and Underwriters and all other areas of the business, as required.
To prepare witness statements (or similar) to support investigations by the Police, the National Crime Agency, other government departments and other law enforcement bodies which may or may not relate to fraud
To attend court to provide supporting evidence to witness statements

As a Fraud Investigator, your skills and experience will ideally include:

Previous Fraud experience from a Financial Services background, including ICA knowledge
Excellent knowledge of the storecard operation
A detailed understanding of TSYS, Decision Strategy, Credit Bureau Information, Word, Excel and the Argos card operation, the role is varied and the Fraud Investigator must be able to adapt quickly and effectively between tasks
A thorough understanding of CIFAS and its regulatory requirements
Experience of end to end investigation, including account rectification
Logical, proactive, confident approach to new challenges and procedures with the ability to articulate complex messages simply and assertively
Strong verbal, written and analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
Must appreciate the implications of Data Protection legislation and Money Laundering
