Legal Counsel (Swedish speaker)

Due to further growth of Amazon and its rapid expansion in new geographic areas, we are looking for an experienced lawyer to better serve our Swedish-speaking customers. You will manage the legal support to all aspects of the consumer business and coordinate services with other legal organizations.

The position is based at our European headquarters in Luxembourg. Some travel may be required and relocation may be required in the medium-term.

Key Responsibilities:
· Advising our management team on legal and strategic matters, including gathering and coordinating advice in the fields of regulatory compliance, commercial, corporate and competition law, intellectual property and litigation.
· Planning, advising and implementing legal programs and improvements to support and protect the business.
· Training employees on regulatory and compliance issues and company policies and processes.
· Communicating effectively on legal and policy issues.
· Helping define and implement a strategy for building strong government relations.
· Negotiating, reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, including contracts for the supply and distribution of goods and services, advertising, business development, financing and intellectual property licensing.
· Handling pre-litigation and legal disputes and enquiries.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Outstanding academic qualifications.
· At least 10 years legal experience gathered both in-house as well as in private practice.
· Previous experience in building and managing teams.
· Strong transactional background dealing with commercial contracts.
· High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also desire to be challenged and think outside the box.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to act as a business partner to senior management.
· Great business judgment, especially in ambiguous situations.
· Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
· Excellent Swedish and English language skills including the ability to draft and negotiate contracts in these languages.
