Import/Export Coordinator

Job description

DESCRIPTION

International freight management, evaluating shipments, consolidating loads, selecting cost effective methods of delivery, proactive identification of problems and providing appropriate solutions, import and export paperwork's, customs clearance, interface with customs authorities, suppliers, customers, forwarding agents and couriers.
· Communications with both internal and external customers & suppliers;
· Review import/export documents for accuracy, choose the most effective method of shipment and provide shipping instructions;
· Prepare export documents and provide consignee/internal customer with ship documents and tracking number;
· Assist customs broker with customs clearance at both origin and destination: provide detailed clarifications about the imported/exported goods, catalogue/data sheet when required and make sure goods are classified correctly;
· Review and approve for payment customs broker / forwarder invoice;
· Obtain entry permit for goods import when required;
· Negotiate rates with carriers & freight forwarders;
· Investigate and resolve shipment problem in timely manner;
· Ensuring that the company is compliant with International Trade Agreements and Customs legislation.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Experienced Import/Export Coordinator with knowledge in the international trade / customs brokerage field,
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (good English is must)
