Amazon's Prime Video is a premium on-demand video entertainment service that offers customers the greatest choice in what to watch, from popular Prime Original TV shows (made by Amazon Studios) such as The Grand Tour, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and the recent Golden Globe winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to Prime Original Movies like the Oscar-winning Manchester by the Sea and The Salesman. The service also offers TV shows that are exclusively available for Prime members in each country such as American Gods, MR ROBOT and Outlander, and more recently live sport including 37 ATP matches, as well as the US Open and Premier League games exclusively from 2019. Beyond this, the service further differentiates from other video-on-demand services by offering Prime members the opportunity to subscribe to 60+ channels like Discovery, Starz, Eurosport Player and hayu and hundreds of thousands of additional titles to watch instantly with no extra apps to download or long term contracts. The SVOD Growth team is building industry leading acquisition and retention experiences on web, mobile and living room device, in over 240 locales world-wide. We're a self-contained, full stack team who help customers find and signup to subscriptions that include Prime, HBO, ShowTime, and sporting channels including the NBA, Eurosport, and many more to come! We own the back-end services that create compelling new plans and promotions, as well as the front-end client UX to help customers find, signup and manage their subscription.

You will be joining a new program team at the coal-face of generating revenue. You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of this strategic, dynamic business area. You will care deeply about the customer experience, and embrace rapid experimentation to innovate at pace.

A successful candidate will have an established background in developing software for consumer-facing products, a strong technical ability, excellent organizational skills, great communication skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, and, of course, a passion for TV and film.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Computer Science Honours degree (2:1 or better) or another technical degree or postgraduate study. In lieu of degree, relevant skills and equivalent experience.
· Able to demonstrate knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented development and design patterns, as well as strong problem solving skills.
· Proficiency with one or more modern JavaScript front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, VueJS or Ember.
· Experience of technically leading at least 1-2 software engineering teams in an Agile environment.
· Experience taking a leading role in designing, building and implementing complex front end user experiences and software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
· Experience leading & influencing engineering best practices within your team and across others for the full development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Experience mentoring engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product engineers.
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
· Strong written and verbal English communications skills.
