Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented data scientist to help us drive the success of Amazon Devices in Europe. You will leverage data, machine learning, econometrics, and predictive analytics to help us understand what influences customer behaviour. Which customers are likely to make a purchase? Which customers are likely to churn? You will collaborate with marketing and product management teams to help them identify opportunities and to measure the impact of activities such as promotions, marketing communications and product feature changes.

Projects are varied and challenging, whether it's applying a simple model efficiently across a large dataset or solving novel and complex problems to seemingly impossible schedules. We need someone with a strong set of core Data Science skills, but who is also able to quickly gain new skills in response to business needs. You will manage your own projects as well as providing support and coaching to other team members to develop their data science skills.

Amazon introduced the first Kindle in 2007 — at that time, it offered 90,000 eBooks and sold out 5.5 hours after the announcement. Since then, we have expanded to become the best-selling e-reader family in the world. We have also produced ground-breaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and more recently Amazon Echo and Alexa (https://www.amazon.jobs/en-gb/business_categories/alexa), the voice service that powers Echo and other devices so customers can play music, control their smart homes, and get information, news, weather, and more, using just their voice.

Benefits include relocation package, flexible work environment and a subsidy towards the cost of international schools to help the children of new hires relocating to Luxembourg adapt to the local languages.
