Department
The Cabin Development Department consists of three construction groups: Body & Exterior, Dashboard and Interior & Trim. Within Product Development, they are jointly responsible for the realization of (sub) projects for the entire cabin. The realization takes place to a great extent in consultation with various suppliers and a number of large development partners, but always on the basis of their own final responsibility in the definition of the concept and elaboration. As Development Engineer, you will be working in the dashboard construction group.
Job description
As a Development Engineer you translate market demands and technical challenges into successful products.
You work according to DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodologies from definition phase through concept development to an end result in a multidisciplinary team.
You also monitor the technical / functional status and progress through design reviews and risk reduction activities.
We expect you to take the lead in coordination between the Design Center, development partner, suppliers and Production Engineering.
During the concept phases of projects, the emphasis will be on concept definition and coordination with suppliers as well as with other departments (Styling, Vehicle definition, Electrical Systems and Testing).
In later phases, you will play a stronger role in risk inventories, product purchase and the actual releases.
You are responsible for decisive and proactive intervention in the event of imminent problems.
Part of the work consists of (co-) drafting dimensioning requirements, conducting tolerance studies, drafting control plans, developing assembly strategies and tools as well as analyzing measurement data.

Profile
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Product Design.
· You have a few years of work experience with the development of plastic dashboard products and electronic / mechatronic components, preferably in the automotive industry.
· You have experience with CAD systems, preferably Unigraphics.
· You have experience with production of plastic such as manufacturability, tooling, strength & stiffness and touch & feel.
· Knowledge and experience with the development process within the automotive industry is an advantage.
· You are able to turn technical challenges into realistic products.
· You are decisive, independent and have a driven collegial attitude and you can work well in a team
· You are fluent in English and German, Dutch is a advantage.
