Purpose

Product development : Manage the product development process for assigned styles from seasonal kick off through to commercialization. Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to provide effective transition from brief/design through to development “buy-ready” commercialisation, on time, within the agreed margin parameter and at the required quality standards

Key Accountabilities

Product development

· Manage supplier briefing and handover from design to T1 to ensure that all information provided to T1 is complete.
· Lead on-site development trips and creative-technical design finalization at vendor, and actively push for decisions; Support Buying in price negotiations and decision making.
· Ensure timely and accurate data entry by T1 regarding AD/BOM, costing or other data as required at calendar milestones according to critical path
· Drive proto quality assurance by
· evaluating prototypes for compliance with Article Description, managing fit approval/
· size specification, approval of color, trims and materials
· ensuring comments are received by supplier
· ensuring prototypes are tested and adhere to Adidas quality, safety and A01
· standards and managing quality exceptions with senior management as needed
· if required, reviewing size sets for accuracy of measurements and merchantability of
· complete size range including logo placement and fit (LO/OC to approve size sets not
· requested by creation team future seasons : supplier to self approve size sets)
· Ensure product changes are limted during development stage to avoid eg. delay, cost increase,
· Lead commercialization
· first seasons: review and sign-off sealing samples with complete Article Description including related documents prior to buy ready dates
· ensure full conformity to published policies to ensure a final legal Article
· Description for final product (future : self approved by supplier)
· Perform required systems work (e.g., Flex PLM)

Style cost management

· Support costing with Sr, Buyer at early & later stages in the creation cycle– together with T1 suppliers
· Ensure target price and product designs are aligned and support Buying during Feasibility checks
· Support Buying, validating and approvingT1 costing information throughout the entire creation process.
· Actively propose opportunities to Design , Marketing and Buying for where quality or cost could be improved without sacrificing product aesthetics (together with suppliers)
· Support line manager and Sr.Director on tasks related to ISC buying activities / department
· Work on projects that help to assess and improve ISC operations.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience

· Passion and knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing (incl. materials)
· Knowledge of materials testing, garment fit & wear testing
· Business Mindset: Strong numerical and analytical skills, experience in costing
· Passionate about product, with in depth understanding of products in the lifestyle/Fast

Fashion environment

· Pro- active (engaging & impact-oriented) mindset, willingness to take risks on decisions
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment with different international cultures
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
· Language skills: fluent in English, some basic German helpful
· IT skills: MS Office mandatory, PLM system knowledge preferred

Qualifications

· > 4 year college or university degree in fashion/lifestyle clothing technology and/or
· manufacturing or comparable education
· functional: 3-5 years of work experience in garment/textile industry
