Our client within public sector is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to be part of a team within the Design Service based in Wandsworth. The role is offered on a 3 months contract basis initially paying up to £22.51/hour umbrella rate.

The Design service delivers a wide range of projects across the public realm and the expanding Council's housing self-build programme. The Quantity Surveyor will :

·  Work closely with Stakeholders and colleagues within the Design Service leading the cost evaluation, cost control, procuring and cost management of all construction activities on multiple projects.

·  Be involved in projects can be from the initial concept through to completion.

·  Oversee the cost of construction and logistics, plus ensuring the project is procured and delivered safely, efficiently, and within the development goals and budget.

·  Plan and manage the cost of projects, delivering schemes that meet the Council's budget, design, quality and sustainability objectives in line with procurement and financial procedures.

·  Provide cost, feasibility and quantity surveying advice to the Council on designated projects from inception to completion and to prepare contract documentation and manage payments and contract administration.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

·  Experience of working within the field of quantity surveying on end to end projects

·  Experience of budgeting, cost control, estimating, interim and final accounts

·  Experience of tender procedures and contract administration

·  Strong negotiation skills

·  Total IT literacy with excellent communication skills

·  Ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines

·  Experience gained in the public sector environment is desirable.

·  Have or working towards RICS accredited degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying

·  Ability to effectively coordinate and monitor multiple programmes of work and communicate between project leads, stakeholders, teams and clients.

·  Be solutions focused and comfortable taking responsibility for tasks and delivering results.
