Proposals engineer
As part of their ongoing growth strategy,my client is seeking a proposals engineer in Yorkshire to join their bespoke company.

Working closely with concept and estimation engineers, you'll play a pivotal role in creating sales proposals ensuring the business remains a market leader in providing industrial automation solutions to new and existing customers.

As part of your day-to-day work, you'll prepare compelling proposals that'll improve the win probability of sales pitches. looking for proposals engineer who can highlight the key features and benefits of our offer, as well as ensure all customer requirements have been addressed and responded to in the proposals. Making sure our proposals are all written consistently with the cost estimates will also be under your remit.

To help win our proposals, creating drawings and graphics - including 3D CAD images and 2D layout drawings - to illustrate our bespoke automation solution will be high on your agenda. Our proposals engineer will also be able to build great relationships within the wider sales team, working daily with the sales, mechanical, electrical and controls engineering units.

In terms of key skills, we're seeking a proposals engineer who has experience in industrial automation systems and has a sound engineering background - preferably in mechanical engineering and possessing an understanding of the controls and electrical aspects. You'll also have the ability to express non- or partial compliance's to minimise the potential for customer rejection of any proposal.

You'll be an efficient operator on Microsoft computer packages, in particular Word, and confidently be able to use graphics illustration packages. Having experience of Inventor or Auto CAD CAD tools is desirable, however a working knowledge of Solid works is acceptable.

To thrive you need to be willing to roll up your sleeves and tackle any challenge put in front of you. We're looking for a proposals engineer who will happily work on their own or as part of a team, and not be afraid to share your thoughts and ideas on any problems that may arise.

Purpose of the Role

To play a key role in the sales team by creating professional sales proposals, ensuring the business
remains a market leader in providing industrial automation solutions to new and existing customers.
This role will work very closely with the Concept Engineer and Estimation Engineer.

* Support the sales team by preparing compelling proposals that highlight the features and benefits
of the offer, so as to improve the win probability

* Ensuring that all the customer's requirements have been addressed and responded to in the
proposal

* Ensuring that the proposal as written is consistent with the cost estimates

* Preparation of drawings/graphics to illustrate the solution - this includes incorporation of 3D CAD
images and 2D layout drawings

* Establish an effective working relationship with the sales, mechanical, electrical and controls
engineering teams

Key Skills
* Experience in industrial automation systems

* Sound engineering background, preferably mechanical engineering with an understanding of
controls and electrical aspects

* Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information and selling
messages across a wide audience

* Ability to express non- or partial-compliance's so as to minimise potential for customer rejection
of proposal

* Training in proposal writing would be an advantage

* Highly competent in using Microsoft computer packages, in particular Word

* Highly competent in any suitable graphics illustration packages

* Experience of Inventor, Auto CAD CAD tools is preferred, Solid works is acceptable

* Strong team-player and ability to work on own initiative

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications

* Minimum HNC qualified in relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline

* Inventor, Auto CAD, Solidworks experience
