JOB TITLE: LINKLINE OFFICER

PAY RATE: £14.57

HOURS: 12 HOURS SHIFTS MONDAY TO SUNDAY 7AM-7PM OR 7PM TO 7AM

BASED IN HOUNSLOW

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To provide the Community Alarm, Telecare and emergency service to vulnerable Sheltered Housing tenants and Borough Residents and also answering the emergency out of hours phone line.

The Linkline Officer will play a key role coordinating responses to out of hours emergencies.

·  To be an ambassador for the Sheltered Housing and Linkline services promoting them as appropriate.

·  To work well as part of a team, supporting colleagues, and participating in team meetings and training courses to develop the service

Functional

·  To staff the call answering/scancom system, respond to calls in an appropriate manner to meet the caller's needs and record the nature of each call and the action taken.

·  To respond to emergencies as necessary, helping distressed clients and summoning assistance where required.

·  To co-ordinate out of hours responses with the emergency services in response to a range of Council emergencies such as fire, flooding or gas leaks within the borough.

·  To triage with health professionals on behalf of sheltered and dispersed clients in response to emergency calls where there is risks of health or death

·  To maintain and amend records of clients, including details of GP, next of kin, and update information on call answering system and manual files.

·  To visit clients in response to emergencies, or as directed to monitor their general well-being within the borough.

·  To carry out general administration to ensure the smooth running of the

·  Linkline service.

·  To liaise with clients' NOK, GPs, social workers, other staff and outside agencies as necessary.

·  Make routine calls to clients to check on their well-being as required and where required use the lifting chair after completing an assessment if necessary

·  Diagnose and replace faulty dispersed alarms, following Health & Safety guidelines, assist clients in use of alarm system and complete paperwork.

·  To be responsible for the use and safe keeping of key

·  To be responsible for the care and security of buildings in Linkline's control, including conducting emergency rounds in the event of an emergency.

·  Complete all paperwork and follow all procedures as set out in the relevant procedure manual / online procedures. To include occasional out of hour referrals for hospital discharge service.

·  Contact all community clients to request regular tests of alarm equipment, and to check their details are up to date.
