Lab/ Hot Area Technician - Witham

Do you have an interest in Chemistry? Would you be interested in working in a laboratory?

We are recruiting a Lab Technicians to join our reputable client in Witham. As Lab Technician you will be responsible for working as part as a team within the furnace area, you will learn a number of techniques in order to produce samples ready for analysis in the laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Initial weighing of samples into cups

·  Mixing samples with litharge using an extracted cupboard

·  Ensuring the Furnace area is kept clean whilst maintaining safety standards

·  Using hand held pump truck to move material

·  Accurate weighing of metals

·  Placing samples into crucibles and melting within a furnace

·  Pouring small amounts of molten material into molds

REQUIRED SKILLS

·  A minimum of four GSCE's at Grade 'C' or above, to include Math's and Chemistry

·  The ability to work as part of a team

·  Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.

·  Ability to communicate with Company personnel at all levels.

·  Skill to work to a satisfactory level of mathematical accuracy.

·  Ability to prepare and analyse with speed and accuracy.

·  Ability to work in an organised and disciplined manner.
