We currently have a position available for a full time temp role, to start as soon as possible, based in Winfrith as an Insurance Officer.

The principal responsibility of the role is to work as part of the Audit, Insurance and Strategic Risk Management Department. The insurance officer post works within the Insurance function of the department.

Key requirements:

·  Attention to detail and accuracy is key, along with skills for use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word etc. The main focus of the role will relate to inputting and gathering of information in relation to motor claims.

·  To provide day to day advice to officers and staff on insurance related matters.

·  To be the single point for all motor insurance related claims and all other classes of insurance claim across Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.

·  To form an early view on liability in motor claims and conduct any necessary enquiries and solicit statements as required facilitating the prompt settlement of claims.

·  To record all insurable events, across all classes of business and maintain an accurate records of all costs and reserves.

·  To process the recover of all monies due to Devon and Cornwall and Dorset through the Uninsuraned loss recovery processes.

·  To understand the business and instigate ad hoc insurance cover as necessary. Eg Travel, changes in vehicle, Boats etc

·  To conduct research and produce statistical information in support of annual insurance renewal, broker renewal and insurance fund evaluations.

·  To accurately record all current and historical insurance policy information.

·  To facilitate ad hoc audits by the Insurers.

Please note, the temporary position is not expected to undertake the full duties of the Insurance Officer role.
