Job Description

The Security and Security Officer reports to the Director of Loss Prevention & Safety and will ensure the safety of our Colleagues, visitors and Hotel guests while ensuring that all security systems are functioning and supporting the Hotel property.

What you will be doing:

·  Ensure the overall safety and security of the Hotel guests, Colleagues, and Hotel premises. 
·  Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns, and calls for medical assistance. 
·  Monitor all security cameras and systems on Hotel properties. 
·  Monitor access and egress control, including staff identification, authorized personnel, and visitors.
·  Perform frequent inspections of vehicles and personal baggage.
·  Ensure that any violations of law or Hotel policy are investigated and reported. 
·  Respond to all emergencies and provide First Aid and CPR as required. 
·  Correct and report any fire hazards or Health and Safety hazards 
·  Report and investigate occurrences of accidents, complaints, criminal activity, and crises 
·  Conduct safety checks on all exterior hotel properties, ensuring alarms are set, gates and doors are secure, and they are working correctly.
·  Perform floor checks to ensure smoke alarms function and no obstructions block the fire exits/closets. 
·  Responsible for checking all interior Hotel properties, ensuring all departments are secured after closing
·  Conducted departmental critical control audits and maintained daily essential control records. 
·  Maintain legible records of all actions in a Daily Logbook. 
·  Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way. 
·  Attend all briefings, meetings, and trainings as assigned by management.
·  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

·  University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
·  Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience in a Security role required
·  Certification in CPR + First Aid an asset
·  Security License is preferred
·  Valid driver’s license, able to drive a golf cart
·  Must be able to exude a professional and positive personality
·  Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities; be responsible and reliable
·  Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment and have good awareness skills
·  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
·  Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Window applications required
·  Strong work ethic, highly responsible, reliable and the ability to work shifts, extended hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays is required

Schedules:  Irregular hours including nights, weekends and public holidays apply to this position.
