In-Room Dining Server - Full Time 

Our guests are always at home at Fairmont Château Laurier - and their In Room Dining experience is no exception. As In Room Dining Server providing warm service, efficiency and knowledge of our menu offerings, you will ensure the timeliness and enjoyment of every memorable meal.

 

Hotel Overview:   Fairmont Château Laurier is the iconic hotel of Ottawa - Canada’s capital city.  Built in the age of grandeur, Ottawa’s very own castle is a magnificent limestone edifice with turrets and masonry reminiscent of a French château.  A symbol of timeless elegance, the hotel combines a distinctive blend of historic charm and modern efficiencies

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Outlets Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

·  Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
·  Have full knowledge of all beverage lists
·  Deliver food and beverage to guest rooms in a timely and accurate manner
·  Pick up orders efficiently from the kitchen
·  Check outgoing orders for quality and accuracy of set up
·  Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
·  Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards for room service
·  Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
·  Other duties as assigned
 


Qualifications:

·  Previous Food & Beverage service experience required
·  Previous Point of Sale System experience preferred
·  Excellent communication skills in both official languages
·  Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
·  Highly responsible & reliable
·  Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
·  Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
·  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
·  Smart Serve Certification
Physical Aspects of Position(include but are not limited to):

·  Constant standing and walking throughout shift
·  Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
·  Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Visa Requirements:  Must be eligible to work in Canada
