Hotel Overview: Centrally located in downtown Calgary, The Fairmont Palliser is the city's premier, landmark hotel. With 407 elegantly appointed guest rooms, and the recent completion of an extensive renovation project, The Fairmont Palliser is truly the place to be.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
A smile and warm greeting is what our Guests will receive when staying at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. As a Doorperson, your engaging personality will make a lasting impression when our Guests arrive at the hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Duties below, and Other duties as assigned by management
Provide warm, sincere and engaging service that follows the service essentials, ensuring Guests feel valued
Treat each and every Guest as a unique individual, personalizing the interaction(s) with thoughtful and personal touches
Resolve Guest problems and never say “no” without offering an alternative. OWN the follow-up to ensure the problem is resolved, and be that guest’s point of contact
Be an ambassador for the Brand, Hotel, Community and Colleagues
Be guided by and exhibit Fairmont core values; respect, integrity, teamwork, accountability & excellence
Be aware of, support and ensure all health and safety policies, environmental policies & evacuation procedures including updates are adhered to
Follow and deliver all Leading Quality Assurance Standards for your position
Ensure a safe, clean hotel at all times and take ownership for your area
Adhere to grooming policies to ensure a professional appearance is always maintained
Warmly greet all arriving and departing guests and ensuring a seamless experience by assisting with transportation and baggage handling needs
Park and retrieve valet vehicles in a safe and timely manner
Act as a Concierge by answering guests inquiries regarding hotel facilities and the local area
Accountable for remaining productive and efficient while ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction

Qualifications:
· Must have a passion for the delivery of outstanding guest service
· Must provide a drivers abstract and Class 5 drivers license; must have ability to drive standard transmission
· Must be in excellent physical condition and able to lift heavy items; ability to work in varied weather conditions
· Must have a flexible schedule
· Excellent communication skills, advanced problem solving abilities and be highly responsible and reliable
· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced team environment
· Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
· Previous Guest Services or customer related experience an asset
· Post Secondary education in hospitality an asset
· Computer literate in MS Word and Property Manager an asset
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
· Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
·
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
· Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
· Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
