JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the inspection of components/materials, tissue sub-assemblies, Information For Use (IFUs), packaging, and labeling materials. Perform inspections required by the Quality Assurance lead. Conduct functional testing as required by component drawings and/or test instructions. Inspect and functionally test bioposthetic heart valves.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform and process inspections for tissue heart valves as directed by QA Supervisor/Engineer.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • May also train operators on inspections and engineering changes, and perform operator certification on-the-job training and testing.
  • Assists in identifying manufacturing issues by working with Engineering to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventative action.
  • Learns process to disposition non-conforming material by utilizing quality tools and by developing knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • Assisting group members in problem solving, trouble shooting and the handling of unique situations
  • Coordinate the documentation of training
  • Coach, train, motivate and enhance the morale and self-esteem of group personnel.
  • Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measuring equipment, microscopes and test fixtures.
  • Records inspection and test data as prescribed by written instructions and procedures

Position Accountability & Scope:

This position reports to Quality Assurance Supervisor/Engineer.

Minimum Education

H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 1-3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination.

Minimum Experience:

Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills): Must have experience handling, sewing or inspecting tissue heart valves. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.; Performs set-up, testing, inspection, and/or maintenance of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. Makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
