JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott, a global leader in medical devices and the treatment and management of heart failure, is seeking candidate for Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Analyst. GMI provides the information relevant to Abbott’s markets, gathered and analyzed to support accurate and confident business decision-making. 

This position has responsibility for supporting both finance and marketing within Abbott’s growing Heart Failure (HF) franchise.  The individual in this role will analyze and evaluate financial market and sales data for use by management in market analysis, market forecasting, and other business areas. A key element of this position includes optimizing and upholding the accuracy and efficiency of Excel-based market models used in financial forecasting as well as ad-hoc market data processing and analytics.   In addition, this position will support coordination of global sales demand and forecasting, tracking and reporting of Abbott’s market share position and performance metrics, that will be used in tactical and strategic business decisions for Abbott’s Heart Failure products.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate financial market and sales data.
  • Maintain accuracy and improve efficiency of market models, data reporting, and global demand planning.
  • Assist in the maintenance of quarterly sales models for Abbott’s financial planning process.
  • Create ad-hoc data queries, reports, and analysis using appropriate independent judgement to provide relevant information for further analysis and consideration by internal partners.
  • Support global marketing by providing financial analysis and tracking and visualization of KPIs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of financial experience (e.g., financial analyst, sales analyst, financial reporting). Financial forecasting experience preferred.
  • Expert level in Excel skills as well as advanced skills in other MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experienced and proficient in data visualization techniques (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Strong problem solver with proven ability to translate data into insights.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and execute multiple deliverables while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to assess and recommend the best methods of collecting and organizing data.
  • Excellent planning, organization and communication skills.
  • Experience in Essbase preferred.
  • Medical device experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
