Abbott Diabetes Care Germany (ADC) is looking for a

Data Scientist (m/f/d)

based in Wiesbaden. The position holder owns supporting and assisting in the growth of our business by providing data and reports to develop metrics, KPI’s, answer business questions and solve problems. The data scientist analyzes business requests and develops new data sources, interfaces or reports to answer those requests or provide data in a form that the business user can answer their own questions.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Programming Business Analytics in MS SQL (Version 2008 R2) - excellent knowledge and skills in this software version are a must and will be verified by online test
  • Understands, identifies and implements the overall business vision for project work, keeping in mind cross-functional impacts, integration across the systems and IT compliance requirements
  • Analyses data sets with the help of programming to extract actionable insights that will help drive business decisions
  • Integrates with external data sources and APIs to discover trends and anomalies
  • Designs rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to management and company leaders
  • Work on a wide portfolio of visualization projects, supporting multiple business partners
  • Communicates complex technical projects to non-technical, senior level audiences
  • Has a strong affinity towards automation and constantly finding ways to integrate /automate daily tasks
  • Willing to work independently as well as collaborate with internal and external customers and IT partners
  • Experience of full project lifecycle, breaking requirements down into technical deliverables and effort estimation
  • Ability to adapt to agility of the business

Qualification:

  • Advanced degree in science, computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or a similar quantitative discipline
  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in data analytics with demonstrated work experience and proficiency with the following programming languages and tools:
    • Data Visualization experience in Power BI
    • Excellent coding/programming skills in MS SQL (Version 2008 R2)
    • Coding skills in VBA is a must
    • Coding skills in DAX and Python or R is a plus
    • Relational Database experience in MSSQL &/ Oracle databases
    • Microsoft toolkit such as MS Access and MS Excel
  • You are capable of delivering structure, insights and answers to very loosely defined problems
  • You’re used to working with abstract data, and you love discovering new narratives in unknown territories
  • You know how to program and extract data from a database and an API, bring it through a transformation or two, and model it into user friendly form
  • Ability to work pro-actively and independently on multiple activities and deliverables
  • Ability to allocate time efficiently manage competing/ shifting priorities
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, statistical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Consulting experience would be an additional advantage
  • Fluent in English
