Are you interested in driving the revolution in transport solutions in real industrial settings?This innovation intern role is unlike most other internships. You will be challenged to innovate, to step outside the box, and to complete a capstone project and delivery a working Proof of Concept by the end of the summer. You will then present your working prototype to the Volvo Group in a traveling Tech Show.

Duration and Expected Hours:
This position will require up to 40 hours per week from May 18 th - August 14 th 2020.
The Innovation Summer Intern capstone project emphasizes an entrepreneurial attitude, creative, out-of-the-box thinking, team collaboration as well as an agile approach. The capstone experience involves researching an identified problem and developing a solution to address it using emerging technologies. Working prototypes of solutions are expected to be presented at the end of the summer. Interns will:
Research and define in detail the problem or opportunity
Determine technology and approach to solve the problem or opportunity
Develop a working prototype using emerging technology and an agile development approach
Document detailed process, lessons learned presentation
Practical experience in developing scripts for tools automation
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and an appetite for systems thinking
Good mathematical background with a strong orientation towards statistical thinking and multi-disciplinary optimization
Domain knowledge in machine learning scripts, algorithms, and techniques is preferred
Domain knowledge in IOT technology, Microsoft Azure or other cloud computing environments, AR/VR/XR etc.
Ability to quantitatively and methodically handle Big Data Analytics.
Excellent team working and communication (verbal & written) skills in English
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic, interdisciplinary team of experts.

Minimum Education Requirements:
Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree related to Business or Information Technology at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
