Job description



Veolia Energy maintains a long-term O&M Services Agreement with Georgia Renewable Power. GRP recently built two 65 MW biomass-fueled power plants in north Georgia and Veolia Energy supported the commissioning and startup, while putting together high performance teams for each plant. Due to internal growth, we are currently seeking a Plant Engineer who will have some chemical oversight duties as well.

Summary:

·
This is an experienced skilled work position that will function under limited supervision. This position will apply prescribed methods and standard practices in performing all phases of projects and in assisting other plant staff on more complex projects.

·
This position will be tasked with developing engineering studies, plans, various procedures, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the Georgia biomass power plants.

·
The plant engineer position will also oversee the plant chemistry programs and working through the Operations Manager will provide supervisory oversight to the plant operators on the same.

·
This position will also perform sampling audits on boiler steam and boiler and cooling tower water.

·
This position will primarily report to the Plant Manager but will be expected to interact regularly with the plant owners as required.

Qualifications :

Requirements:
· 
Bachelor degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering from an accredited college/university is highly preferred. HS Diploma or GED is required.

· 
Strong knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty is preferred.

· 
Minimum of two years of directly related experience in engineering related field.

· 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.

· 
Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness. Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.

· 
Ability to travel between the Madison County and Franklin County Plants. Must have dependable transportation and maintain a valid driver license with safe driving record.

· 
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to perform routine data entry and basic mathematical calculations.

· 
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate and legible records and archive documents and data into a company data management system.

· 
Ability to adhere to Company policies and procedures and to quickly develop proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.

· 
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.

· 
Must be able to multitask readily without direct supervisor input.

· 
Must be willing to accept and respond to assistance requests from either plant during non-normal working hours.
