WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a R&D technologist who will support the R&D Local Deploy Foods team in Spain. The Local Deploy Team represents the R&D Business Partner and First Point of Contact to the MSO – in particular to CCBT marketing, Sales departments and Supply Chain organization – for all R&D related activities. The Deploy team is composed of technical experts of products and technology processes with insights of local market and consumer needs. Main purpose of the role is the implementation and activation of Foods innovations and renovations in the local market, according to the highest quality standard and in compliance with European and local legislation. The R&D technologist will work in close collaboration with the European development centers and relevant sourcing units. Connected for Growth has distinguished global projects (‘70'), and local projects (‘20' for a global brand, ‘10' for a local brand). The latter are aimed to address the specific needs of the local business. The jobholder needs to be able to land ‘70' projects and drive the CCBT ‘20' /‘10' projects. Additionally, is expected to work in Compliance with Flash Framework supporting CCBTs with agile solutions with 3P Innovation sourcing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

· Technical support for implementation of product innovations and renovation activities for the area of responsibility in Spain
· First point of contact for local CCBT marketing regarding all technical and product-related topics
· Creation and approval of product declarations compliant to food law in collaboration with Regulatory and Legal Department (Food Law)
· Transfer of locally relevant legal and trade specific requirements to Regional Deploy Centres (RDCs)
· Driving the creation and implementation of demos, claims and KBS (Knowledge Based Selling) materials.
· Ensuring technical support for product-related communication and advertising in collaboration with Nutrition, Regulatory and Legal Departments (Food Law)
· Training of Careline, Customer Development and Brand Building regarding all technical aspects of the product portfolio and information about new products to be launched
· Support and collaboration in case of official complaints, legal actions and competitor challenges
· Active role in quality improvement initiatives driven by Local Deploy
· Artwork approval as part of product compliance
· Delivery and maintenance of product specifications, including the technical, legal and nutrition information
· Technical R&D support and input to cross category Corporate initiatives such as Unilever sustainable Living Plan and others.
· When necessary provide required input for CCBT meetings
· Competitor monitoring/benchmarking and food trends evaluation, sharing any insights with the local marketing team and the relevant RDC as appropriate.
· Upholds Unilever QA policy and Code of Business Principles

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

· Degree in Food Technology, Food Chemistry or related fields of study
· Spanish and English language fluent (both spoken and written)
· Desirable Working knowledge of:
· the WoW in Local and Regional Deploy Centres, incl. a broad R&D network
· food production and product development
· local and European food law
· product complaint handling
· System knowledge: Interspec, Blue
· sensory assessment and documentation
· management skills in a matrix organization incl. interface management
· Independent, structured, solution and business oriented and decisive way of working
· Proven track of handling complex tasks in daily work
· Good communication and team skills and readiness to work with international teams
· Project management
· To work self-dependent
