The Foods and Refreshments (F&R) Division comprises circa 40% of the overall Unilever business today. In a dynamic and changing environment, the division is driving various transformational initiatives to win in the marketplace in line with its Purpose “Taste Good, Feel Good, Force for Good”.

The described vacancy is part of the Africa Foods & Refreshment (F&R) Cluster which is a key partner to

cluster design, the Africa Supply Chain and various Sourcing Units in Africa.

The role requires working in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of Research & Develoopment (R&D), Supply Chain (SC), Customer Development (CD), Brand and 3 rd parties in order to land product innovations, renovations, 5S and business critical projects on time and in full (OTIF). The Processing function is responsible for translating R&D lab designs into scable production within the various sourcing units. The role requires stronger business partnering with SUIT teams at the various sourcing units to resolve issues, ensure OTIF implementation and introduce improvements along the value streams.

JOB SUMMARY

• To lead parts of and contribute to the development of Cluster Product Designs

• Design and validation of processes in Pilot Plant and Unilever SC network (3Ps included)

• Implementation of projects in SU’s and 3PM’s based on either Cluster or Category needs

• Design specification ensuring compliance with:

– Consumer Safety Framework and relevant GMP

– Functional Excellence

– Cost relevant solutions

• Internal procedures and documentation standards

• To support complexity reduction in ingredients, recipes and processes

• To support 5S activities related to area of responsibility

• To apply standard practices to ensure quality of reporting in data management systems

• Support NPD implementation process with Statistical Analysis and Digital tools

• Solving delegated problem through application of Statistical Analysis and Data Modelling

• To share knowledge with other team members in Cluster Design

• To contribute to group and site culture and team building events

• To contribute to risk- and environmental assessments

• To ensure full compliance to the Unilever Code of Business Principles and all relevant SHE, QA and

other policies and legislation

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor/ Degree, in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial)

• 3-5 years Relevant experience within R&D or Supply Chain

• Experience in Foods and Refreshments will be advantageous

• Date Analysis and Statistical Process Control

• Project Management and Capex planning

• Flexibility to work across both Office and Factory environments
