Logistics Operative – September Start - £20,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits

Overview :

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our famous Marmite site and become part of an enthusiastic and brand-driven team in the Burton-on-Trent Unilever factory.

Our site is going through a period of expansion with the addition of a new sourcing unit and as a result, we are seeking experienced Logistics / Warehouse Operatives who will drive our business forward in this exciting time.

Job summary:

As part of a team of Warehouse Operatives, you will be looking after the movement of stock and materials around the factory.

You will be using SAP to input information in to the performance system, operating a Fork Lift Truck, and implementing the necessary quality standards for handling and storage of the materials across the factory.

Tasks will include:

Building pallets and orders to support successful order fulfilment

Safe handling and storage of hazardous materials

Stock processing, working accurately to control warehouse inventory

Analysis of material movements to locate parts, serial numbers, and quantity change

Load and unload trucks, bulk rigs and transports with a forklift

Assist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse and logistics area.

Following all policies and procedures relating to product age and quality

Conduct inspection and general maintenance of logistic equipment including lubrication, servicing of filters etc

What do we look for in terms of experience and skills?

Similar experience in another manufacturing / warehouse environment

Must have a valid nationally recognised Fork Lift Truck Licence (such as ITSAAR / RTITB) and experience of using SAP

Working knowledge of warehouse systems and Microsoft Office

Experience of recording data and analysis of machine performance

Strong team ethic, communication and numerical skills
