Job description



The Community Developer (ComDev) Team leads the Community strategy and tactical planning that inspire and engage our most devoted players. Our goal is to create a link between our developers and players to enrich the gaming experience and drive long-term retention for Ubisoft brands. Reporting to the Customer Management Team, Community Developers work in-studio alongside Production to ensure the success of our programs, activations and events with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors on a global scale.

 

What you'll do

 

As a Community Developer, you will own the community-focused strategy and content for one of the titles currently under development in our Montreal studio. You will work to serve both the community needs and support marketing/business initiatives through authentic communication, reliable and relevant content plus provide precise feedback loops between all stakeholders. The Community Developer, reporting to the Manager, Community Development, is also expected to share and grow our team’s expertise, contributing key learnings to the larger group.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·  Shape a community-focused strategy and content campaign.
·  Create and manage communication planning in tone/cadence/priority with communities online and at global events.
·  Define and report on content KPI’s to demonstrate success and ROI of community programs and content (increased viewership, retention and engagement with content).
·  Coordinate communication, activities and initiatives with multiple global departments for consistent and cohesive messaging.
·  Develop community content tactics that support the overall marketing strategy.
·  Represent the community needs to the Production and Marketing Teams.
·  Manage and coordinate with live teams for post-launch communication: set expectations on applicable situations such as patch content, crisis management, status and content delivery.
·  Develop strategies and manage KPIs for Live phases such as betas, play tests to ensure objectives and KPIs are met.
·  Manage and produce internal reports on community reaction, activities and output.
·  Coordinate events involving studio visits from fans and chats with Development Team.
·  International travel required.

What you bring

 

A Community Developer is passionate, energetic, and engaging person that understands gaming communities and what makes those communities tick. You understand Strategy and meetings objectives. In the fast-paced gaming industry, you are highly skilled at building influence, navigating global needs and maintaining a player-first mindset.

 

·  3-5 years’ experience in Community or community-related fields
·  Deep understanding of building strategic plans and developing community programs
·  Well-versed on the social media landscape and a confident communicator both on- and off-line
·  Knowledgeable about the gaming industry, gaming communities and trends in the entertainment industry; be able to spot opportunities and capitalize on them
·  Exude influence and negotiation skills, supremely flexible
·  Embrace planning and organization as your best friend
·  Familiarity of video game production process
