Description du poste

The trainee will contribute to ongoing matters within the Division, which acts as internal legal counsel on HSE and social responsibility matters.

The trainee will assist with the drafting of legal advice and contract management on matters relating to safety, human rights, societal engagement, protection of the environment, of biodiversity and climate.

The trainee will be in charge of research on regulatory affairs and case law under French, European and international law as well as the laws of other national jurisdictions in countries in which Total is active. S/He will also contribute to a daily legal watch bulletin for the benefit of the Division and its internal clients.

The trainee will participate in internal meetings and training related to the above.

The trainee will be part of the legal department of the parent company of a multinational company and will thus have the opportunity to exchange with international lawyers from diverse backgrounds and specialities. S/he will cultivate his/her skills in (1) research, (2) legal analysis and risk management and (3) will develop rigour in drafting and legal thinking.

You are currently preparing a Master’s degreein Law or a Professional Lawyer Certification (CAPA)and looking for a 6 months internship from January 2021 .

Required entry Qualifications:
·  Fluent in English and French
·  Must possess Microsoft Office skills (Word, Powerpoint, basic Excel) 
·  Complete legal training, knowledge and experience in Human Rights, Environment and/or Climate legal issues, ability to write legal analysis in English
·  Rigor, good communication with team, self-organized to manage multiple tasks in coordination with management
