Job Description

otal Gas & Power North America , based in Houston, conducts Total’s commodity (NG, NGL, Power, Dry products, LPG and LNG) trading and marketing activities in the USA. Within the Trading Division, the Operations team is currently seeking a Natural Gas Scheduler.

The role of Natural Gas Scheduler is to assist the organization in the successful management, optimization and cost control activity of the group’s growing Gas and LNG portfolio assets.
Situated within a department of experienced team members, the Natural Gas Scheduler will participate in all of the daily responsibilities and functions, including, but not limited to:

·  Assist Front Office in the management, optimization and cost control activities associated with the assigned regional pipelines, gathering systems and/or liquefaction assets with its own specificities;
·  Nominate and monitor operational activities on the assigned regional pipelines, gathering systems and liquefaction assets.  Relay issues or concerns and advise Front Office on potential impacts and alternative solutions;
·  Independently communicate with internal teams and external counterparties on the daily Gas feed and LNG portfolio activities; in addition to forward horizon assumptions;
·  Analyze and verify all operational reports to ensure accurate and timely information is obtained and distributed to all parties involved with the assigned regional pipelines, gathering systems and liquefaction assets;
·  Ensure physical transactions are recorded accurately within the organization’s proprietary risk management system;
·  Assist internal groups in the deal flow, physical settlement process and liquefaction tolling reconciliation activities;
·  Support business development in the interpretation and implementation of agreements;
·  Assist Trading Systems and Information Technology teams with on-going proprietary software and hardware improvements, and
·  Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of effective internal controls.

Candidate profile

·  Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent experience;
·  Three to five years of relevant scheduling experience in the logistics and/or operational aspects of producer, midstream, interstate and/or LNG activity; commercial/economic evaluation is a plus;
·  Strong critical thinking and analytical proficiency with attention to detail and delivery of accurate work product;
·  Effective written and oral communication skills with internal and external teams;
·  Excellent organizational and computer skills;
·  Ability to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment, meeting communicated schedules and deadlines with little to no supervision;
·  Ability to read and interpret contracts, understanding the organization’s obligations and maintaining financial confidence;
·  Ability to work in a team environment; maintaining good working relationships with internal and external teams;
·  Demonstrate initiative and effective time management skills to develop knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities independently;
·  Ability to provide rotational coverage nights, weekends and holidays.
