Job Description

Provide quality control for products blended in the Linden plant. Quality control includes testing of product batches, recording of test results including adjustments to blends, preparation of certificates of analysis and other customer-required documentation and other activities as may be required. Analyze production samples, raw materials, finished goods in a timely manner ensuring the accuracy of test results. Provide guidance to production personnel in the adjustment of batches and timely disposition of production.

Analyze competitor industrial products and develop equivalents, and adjust current formulations where needed. Metalworking fluids, water-soluble and neat oils, are the primary targets.

Maintain a clean, safe working environment in the Laboratory. Order lab supplies & chemicals when needed.

Notify lab management / technical staff of issues in production in order that they can be resolved in a timely manner.

Candidate profile

This position requires a Bachelors Degree (preferably in Chemistry) or other qualifying education; ability to execute lab tests according to ASTM & other standardized methods; must have good reading & writing skills, computer skills (MS Office); must be a team player, dependable & able to follow instructions from Lab Manager and Industrial Technical Manager. This position must have or be able to obtain a good understanding of Petroleum Chemistry and should have a basic understanding of the manufacture of lubricant products.
