The Human Resources Business Partner is accountable for all HR Operational and Administrative functions for a 1200+ Associate Fulfillment Center. Including HRIS, Reporting, Benefits, Leave of Absence Administration, Compliance, and Payroll. Leads a team of HR Assistants. Interacts with Home Office and external agencies on a variety of issues to include employment, payroll, HRIS, and Risk Management. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and local collective bargaining agreement.

 

Responsibilities:

·  Lead a team of Human Resources Assistants and Generalists to provide regular coaching and guidance, while ensuring technical and professional development.
·  Supervises the administration of all payroll functions, including time and attendance, associate calendars, compensation and benefits plans, which include health, dental, prescription and disability. Tracks trends, provides reports/data and recommends ways to achieve cost savings.
·  Supervises the leave of absence policy and oversees processing and monitoring of all requests. Ensures compliance with federal and local laws and company policy, i.e. FMLA, Short- and Long-Term Disability, etc.
·  Serves as subject matter expert on collective bargaining agreement and associated benefits, compensation programs and policies (paid and unpaid time off, overtime, job and shift premiums, etc). Liaises with internal and external partners to ensure practices and systems are in alignment with said programs.
·  Regularly conducts audits, ensuring all processes and record-keeping complies with Company policy and procedures as well as State and Federal law.
·  Proactively communicates and educates leaders and associates on benefit programs, company best practices, and legislative & policy changes.

 

Qualifications:                                   

·  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience.
·  5+ years of Human Resources leadership experience.
·  Strong HR Acumen and knowledge of employment law, benefit programs, associate relations, and payroll practices including wage & hour and FLSA.
·  Knowledge of HRIS & Payroll Systems.
·  Strong leadership skills and success in developing a team
·  High level of analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make decisions with limited information in the best interest of associates and the company
·  HR experience in a Distribution or retail environment preferred, but not required. Experience in a union environment is a plus
