Job Summary

 

Part of the European Employee Relations (‘ER’) Centre of Expertise team, supporting the delivery of ER strategy and specialist services. Primarily focused on assisting the Manager of ER in the provision of the ER service for the UK, and supporting the Manager of ER (Europe).

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Advisory

·  To act as second line support for HR Service Centre ER queries (e.g. grievance, disciplinary, absence management, performance management etc.).
·  Coaching and advising HR Service Centre Advisors through more complex case queries ensuring a robust and consistent approach. Referring to the Manager of ER / HRBPs as appropriate
·  To provide feedback to HR Service Centre Team Leaders on key themes / learnings to support improvement of ER capability 
·  Support with upskilling of current and new team members in the HR Service Centre to build capability in ER related matters, new/updated policies and procedures, and upcoming changes to legislation
·  Assist Manager of ER in employment law updates and knowledge sharing opportunities across the wider HR function

 

Tribunal Cases / Litigation

·  Assist Manager of ER and HRBP with coordination of tribunal cases, specifically:
·  Coordinate / gather bundle documentation
·  Assist with queries from legal provider on policy / procedure points relating to the claim and response / witness statements
·  Assist with coordinating internal disclosure process
·  Keep log of claims for UK with key dates / actions

 

Projects

 

·  Represent ER on projects as required
·  Assist in delivery of the UK policy development plan as required:
·  Supporting implementation and communication plans
·  Administrative support
·  Coordinating the operationalisation of new / revised policies with the HR Service Centre

 

Admin

·  Prepare the ER European monthly newsletter
·  Collate and report on employment claims across Europe
·  Provide accurate, well-presented ad hoc reporting on various ER issues
·  Provide support on ad hoc data requests / data gathering on ER topics for Europe
·  Maintain the ER shared drive (cleansing, archiving as required)
·  Management of PO’s

 

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

 

·  Employee Relations experience in end to end case management
·  Keen interest in employment law and in further developing and applying this knowledge  
·  Ability to communicate concisely and clearly both verbally and in writing
·  Experience in a fast moving, customer facing organisation preferred
·  Confident personal style but flexible and open to alternative solutions
·  Ability to work under pressure
·  Excellent problem solving skills
·  Previous success of working closely with stakeholders and the ability to build effective relationships
·  Good organisation and planning skills, obtained within a multi-tasking environment
·  Capable of taking ownership of tasks/projects
·  Proven track record of self-development
·  Competent IT skills (including Word and Excel) including reporting and presentation of data
·  High attention to detail and the ability to interpret data
·  Ideally CIPD qualified / part qualified or equivalent
