Principal Subsea Installation Engineer

Reporting to the Installation Engineering Discipline Manager, your role will be to lead subsea engineering teams in order to achieve project or tender objectives, ensuring development and implementation of safe procedures and processes.

Your commercial and contractual awareness will be essential in maintaining responsibility for engineering execution, as well as compliance with legislation, design rules, TechnipFMC procedures and client requirements.


Job description
·  Lead multi-discipline engineering and design teams to deliver projects, tenders and/or design studies
·  Deliver high quality, safe and environmentally responsible engineering solutions
·  Comply with corporate standards, client requirements, legislation and industry standards
·  Define engineering deliverables for allocated project scope of work.
·  Develop manpower work estimates, work scope assignments, engineering schedules and progress measurement systems for engineering management
·  Interface with commercial, contractual, procurement and logistics disciplines
·  Be the technical authority on the project, responsible for control of technical integrity and external verification
·  Provide the technical lead for contract administration and assembly of contract variations
·  Participate in the identification and control of work scope risks and opportunities
·  Originate, review and approve engineering deliverables
·  Manage subcontractors and vendors
·  Manage engineering performed by engineering consultants and suppliers
·  Lead field engineering support to deliver fabrication, testing and offshore installation activities
·  Coordinate meetings with Clients, Suppliers and / or Consultants and manage technical issues relating to installation engineering
·  Assist Installation Engineering Discipline Manager in the development of the discipline
·  Provide guidance, growth, support and training of engineers under supervision.
You are meant for this job if you;
·  Hold an Engineering Degree relevant to the installation discipline which is recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia
·  Demonstrate significant experience in, and knowledge of, subsea installation engineering
·  Have experience in the management of multi-discipline teams, and setting clear objectives
·  Possess commercial and contractual awareness
·  Demonstrate integrity & honesty, leadership and team work
·  Are able to maintain a delivery focused culture and have strong planning and organisational skills
·  Have the ability and willingness to make decisions, and take responsibility for delivery and ownership of mistakes
·  Clear communication skills, written & verbal
·  Have Australian citizenship or permanent residency

This role will involve travel to client, subcontractor, vendor and consultant offices for meetings, and travel to either onshore and offshore sites when required.
