Principal Subsea Installation Engineer

Introduction to the job
Reporting to the Installation Engineering Discipline Manager, your role will be to lead subsea engineering teams in order to achieve project or tender objectives, ensuring development and implementation of safe procedures and processes.
Your commercial and contractual awareness will be essential in maintaining responsibility for engineering execution, as well as compliance with legislation, design rules, TechnipFMC procedures and client requirements.

ยท Lead multi-discipline engineering and design teams to deliver projects, tenders and/or design studies
ยท Deliver high quality, safe and environmentally responsible engineering solutions
ยท Comply with corporate standards, client requirements, legislation and industry standards
ยท Define engineering deliverables for allocated project scope of work.
ยท Develop manpower work estimates, work scope assignments, engineering schedules and progress measurement systems for engineering management
ยท Interface with commercial, contractual, procurement and logistics disciplines
ยท Be the technical authority on the project, responsible for control of technical integrity and external verification
ยท Provide the technical lead for contract administration and assembly of contract variations
ยท Participate in the identification and control of work scope risks and opportunities
ยท Originate, review and approve engineering deliverables
ยท Manage subcontractors and vendors
ยท Manage engineering performed by engineering consultants and suppliers
ยท Lead field engineering support to deliver fabrication, testing and offshore installation activities
ยท Coordinate meetings with Clients, Suppliers and / or Consultants and manage technical issues relating to installation engineering
ยท Assist Installation Engineering Discipline Manager in the development of the discipline
ยท Provide guidance, growth, support and training of engineers under supervision.
You are meant for this job if you;
ยท Hold an Engineering Degree relevant to the installation discipline which is recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia
ยท Demonstrate significant experience in, and knowledge of, subsea installation engineering
ยท Have experience in the management of multi-discipline teams, and setting clear objectives
ยท Possess commercial and contractual awareness
ยท Demonstrate integrity & honesty, leadership and team work
ยท Are able to maintain a delivery focused culture and have strong planning and organisational skills
ยท Have the ability and willingness to make decisions, and take responsibility for delivery and ownership of mistakes
ยท Clear communication skills, written & verbal
ยท Have Australian citizenship or permanent residency

This role will involve travel to client, subcontractor, vendor and consultant offices for meetings, and travel to either onshore and offshore sites when required.
