Roles & Responsibilities
The function of this position is to support Surface purchasing activities.

The key elements will include:

·  Knowledge in Planning and understanding of MRP (SAP) demands
·  Direct responsible for purchase of direct parts / raw materials
·  Understanding of procedures / processes, specification and Incoterms
·  Identify and realizes cost savings opportunities
·  Manage Price Variance versus budget, standard and last purchase
·  Develop supplier relationships and track performance
·  Collaborate with GSP Category Managers
·  Support operational effectiveness

Qualifications
·  Have worked in a manufacturing environment
·  3-5 years purchasing/materials management experience with a minimum of 3 years in purchasing
·  Degree or relevant Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing
·  Microsoft PC skills experience required and versatile in handing data
·  Have experience in using SAP will be an advantage
·  Must demonstrate strong negotiation, planning and strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with co-workers, suppliers and team
·  Excellent negotiating skills and interpersonal skills
·  Good written and verbal communications
·  Understand MRP
·  Proactive
·  Willing to take challenges to change role within the Material Management as and when needed
·  Willing to perform overtime as and when needed
