Materials Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for planning, procurement and inventory management of direct materials that support Drilling, Completions and Pressure Pumping products and services sales in Mexico and Colombia.Supervise a team of buyers and planners to ensure effective execution of the materials plan.
POSITION DUTIES:
¡Support sales in quotations and tenders by providing lead time and cost estimates.Provide alternate materials and supply solutions that improves our ability to increase profitable sales
¡Responsible for developing short to medium term production, procurement and inventory plan to support the approved S&OP Plan
¡Responsible for creating, maintaining and improving manufacturing production plan that meets on time delivery, cost and inventory goals
¡Oversee purchasing of direct materials to support S&OP Plan
¡Collaborate closely with Suppliers and Global Sourcing team to ensure supplier delivery performance, material cost and purchasing lead times are continuously improved
¡Establish and manage inventory plan to effectively support the sales, manufacturing strategy while reducing working capital
¡Responsible for developing and maintaining accurate standard cost for all procured materials per financial standards
¡Ensure that all establish planning and procurement processes are adhered to and respected
Responsible for performance improvements in On Time Delivery, Lead Time, Inventory Turns, Excess/Obsolescence, Total Landed Cost, Resource Capacity Utilization
¡Coach and develop employees, including mentoring the team, supporting their professional development, and evaluating job performance
¡Collaborate with Global/Regional MRP Systems team to continuously improve planning and procurement processes and systems
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
¡BA or BS in Business Administration, Engineering or other technical degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
¡A minimum of 4 years' experience in planning, materials management, procurement, or relevant business experience
¡Self-directed, able to prioritize/manage complex issues and tasks, and negotiate price, terms, and conditions with minimal supervision
¡Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.Effective written and verbal communications skills
¡PC/Microsoft Office skills including the use of the Internet for supply chain functions and SAP or similar ERP systems experience required
¡Experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrated understanding of various manufacturing processes
¡Experience and understanding of logistics and distribution processes
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Position calls for travel to both domestic and international locations.Travel may be required over an extended number of days.Travel to suppliers could involve being in or around heavy shop machinery, forging and foundry equipment, steel mills, heat-treat, and coating/plating operations each with potential high noise levels and various temperature conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: When involved in travel to a supplier or potential supplier, position may involve extensive walking or climbing depending upon the facilities of the supplier.Frequent sitting and operation of the computer while in the office.
