RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages all Instrumentation and Control systems deliverables on the project, including P&IDs; field instrument specifications, datasheets, and requisitions; control systems specs, datasheets, and requisitions (including DCS, SIS, Fire & Gas, PLC, etc.); analyzer and analyzer shelter specs, datasheets, and requisitions; flowmeter, control valve and PSV sizing calculations; design drawings including wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, panel drawings, cause and effect diagrams, control narratives, System Architecture Drawings and Remote Instrument Building layouts.

MAIN TASKS:
• Develops scope of work
• Monitors and advise Department Manager and Project Manager of changes
• Prepares detail design schedule milestones, staff loading schedules and man-hour estimates
• Establishes design concepts and design data for scope assigned to group and assures technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements
• Prepares Engineering Change Request as required
• Reports progress and updates schedules
• Researches suitable solutions and estimated cost and timescales
• Trains less experienced engineers and designers
• Generates Instrument, Control Systems, and construction specifications
• Generates Instrument and Control System requisitions, analyzes quotes, manages PO's, reviews vendor documents
• Provides input on employee's performance as appraisal to Department Managers
• Independently evaluates the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals
• Applies standard engineering tasks and exhibits a working knowledge of applicable codes
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work
• Reviews and generates design data from various inputs
• Performs the more sophisticated and complicated designs and calculations in accordance with established company standards
• Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
• Supervises, checks and assists designers and drafters in their assignments
• Prepares and /or supervises engineering reports, studies, calculations and checks drawings as required
• Manages all Instrumentation and Control Systems personnel on the team, including HVEC personnel

REQUIREMENTS:
• BS Engineering, plus 4-7 years relevant experience in specialized area or product line(s), or MS Engineering, plus 3-5 years' experience; or Entry level PhD Engineering.
• Good communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to make decisions on a fast pace environment.
• Analytical problem solving mindset.
• Flexibility to travel and participate in conference calls with global groups.
• Creative and show initiative.
• Able to follow the proper channels of communication to resolve conflict.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Spends most of time in an office environment. Will spend some time in shop coordinating tests may be exposed to possible shop hazards including heavy machinery, high noise, chemicals and shop traffic. Foreign travel may be required.
