Equipment Engineer (Diving/Mechanical)

Aberdeen (Westhill)

Job Scope:

·  To ensure mechncial equipment is maintained in accordance with relevant standards
· 
To support diving equipment, maintrenance and assurance processes (IMCA/Class/NORSOK)

·  To manage small projects supporting wider organisation – e.g. project equipment overhaul
·  To ensure compliance with company standards and procedures (eg LOLER, PUWER etc)

Job description

·  Maintain appropriate QHSES standards
·  Comply with relevant T-MOS Business Management System (BMS) and DCC process
·  To ensure technical standards comply with legislative, industry and company requirement
·  To review and assess equipment design against company requirement (guidance on applicable rules, regulations and standards
·  To review and assess equipment mobilisation and seafastening against company requirement:new equipment/machinery installations – Review and approve structural design calculations and proposals for permanent and temporary equipment installations. Undertake structural design calculations to class and flag authority requirements in support of vessel upgrades and modifications.
·  To carry out surveys and to prepare / advise on repair procedures as required:structural Inspection, Maintenance and Repair – provide guidance on NDT inspection, weld repair procedure specifications and structural strengthening. Undertake engineering design calcs and prepare structural drawings for the above.
·  To produce detailed design, class approval and fabrication drawings
·  To answer BU's technical queries related to equipment
·  To identify areas of improvement on existing equipment, and develop specifications for new ones.
·  To identify R&D projects and studies related to equipment
· 
To execute project engineer / project lead tasks as requested by the Mobile Equipment Manager

You are meant for this job if

·Previous experience with design or operation of offshore equipment.

·  Equipment and general structures
·  Mechincal repair
·  Equipment construction and steelwork fabrication
·  Classification society knowledge
·  LOLER and PUWER regulations
·  AutoCAD design draughting
·  Diving, IMCA class and Norsok standards

·Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

·Good communication skills and willingness to listen to and take onboard advice and guidance

·Ability to deal with confrontation and maintain a professional outlook and attitude in resolving difficult issues

·Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour.

·Demonstrate leadership in quality and HSE

·Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.

·Knowledge of Programmable Logical Control (PLC) and hydraulics (nice to have)
