Engineer Technician - Electrician

Job description

Basic Job Description: Provide instrument, electrical, and mechanical support to engineering and operations team while completing improvement projects to improve up time and quality. In addition this position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing complex industrial machines, electrical wiring, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and safety procedures.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

* Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, including housekeeping practices and participation in EHS meetings, investigations, and audits.

* Maintains department equipment in good operating condition.

* Develops expert knowledge in instrument and electrical aspects of operations.

* Perform projects related to items such as electrical and mechanical installation, instrument calibration, HMI graphics updates PLC program changes.

* Ensures operation of machinery and electrical equipment by completing preventive and predictive maintenance requirements on machinery and electrical equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications. * Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

* Performs skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.

* Detect and solve routine production problems in all aspects of assigned process.

* Participates in process reviews and Six Sigma projects. Recommends measures and drives projects to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

* Interface between all functions of the business, specifically Manufacturing and Engineering.

* Communicates with Supervisors, Leads, Operators, Maintenance and Engineers; making them aware of out of spec processes, test data and/or equipment problems and assists in solving problems. Sets a proper example of teamwork and cooperation when dealing with leads, supervisors and operators from other shifts.

* Works with engineering and technology to developmanufacturing of new or adjusted product.

* Observes and follows all safety procedures. Ensures safe operation of equipment and champions
safety awareness.

* Keeps own and adjacent work areas clean.
Performs related and incidental work assignments as required.

* Expected to spend time on both operations floor (experimental trials,
troubleshooting issues, regular production, or preventive maintenance
activities) and on project work/data analysis.

* Works with engineering and technology to design and build prototype, manufacturing, and test
equipment

* Conducts process and/or product experiments to drive improvements
