Role Summary/Purpose:

The Process Engineer will join the Process Engineering team, applying technical skills in supporting the sale and execution of municipal/ industrial desalination systems in water and wastewater applications applying SUEZ’s product and solutions portfolio. The Process Engineer will work with the global product management and technology team as well as the regional sales team and projects team, supporting commercial engineers, project management, engineering functions, commissioning and service activities.   

 

Essential Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated, creative and dedicated process engineer with proven track record to lead process designs during development, proposal and execution stage of projects. The position requires a combination of in depth product and process design expertise in desalination processes, especially RO and EDR, along with commercial expertise in technical sales and customer relationships.

Essential Responsibilities include:

·  Work with global product management and technology and lead the introduction and application of existing and new NF, RO, EDR, EDI products and solutions in the region, including knowledge management, challenging the boundaries of and identifying new applications, training etc.
·  Develop/Prepare Process Designs for both proposals and projects, to ensure accuracy, competitiveness and compliance with design standards, specifications, relevant codes and EHS requirements in the region.
·  Develop technically accurate and compliant bid strategies to win new projects by supporting proposal preparation.  Work as a team with Sales and Commercial Engineering through specification review, proposal review, and preparation/review of PFD, P&ID, and system layout drawings.
·  Develop process designs and experimental programs for pilots. Review and approve operating changes. Review work plans prepared by Pilot Project Manager. Review and approve pilot reports.
·  Assist Sales Manager in strategic positioning on key projects, including building long-term relationships with customers from the sales cycle through to long-term operation. 
·  Develop/maintain relationships with key consultants.
·  Develop/maintain relationships with key regulators.  Provide support with respect to regulatory requirements. 
·  Support project execution through review of control documents, engineering drawings, and O&M manuals for projects.  Support plant commissioning and performance testing.
·  Troubleshoot issues raised in operating plants to support the Service team, as required. Work with a team of experts, drive process/product quality and reliability issues to root cause and corrective action using a disciplined, data-driven approach.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s or higher degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other technical discipline with emphasis in process design and/or controls of water and/or wastewater treatment unit operations.
·  Minimum of 5 years of relevant desalination experience with RO and/or EDR technologies, preferably >10 years
·  Ability to work independently to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight
·  Strong oral and written communication skills
·  Ability to contribute on multidisciplinary teams
·  Ability to travel locally and internationally up to 25%;
·  Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and most relevant design software tools
·  Fluency in English (oral and written)
·  EU work permit

 

Desired Characteristics:

·  Experience in the field of further water or wastewater treatment technologies, including upstream pre-treatment (DAF, MMF, UF etc.) and downstream technologies (EDI, oxidation, adsorption) and any other technologies applicable to WTPs and/or WWTPs.
·  Experience in leading complex water or wastewater treatment schemes, e.g. waste water reuse incl. ZLD projects.
·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
·  Strong problem-solving skills.
·  Ability to speak effectively before groups and customers, clients, and other employees of organization
·  Fluency in any other European language (oral and written) would be beneficial, especially, Russian, German, Spanish or Turkish.
·  Experience with other process design and simulation software tools.
