The objective of this PhD is to explore the new SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Sensor) pixel architectures design possibilities made possible by the latest technology bricks available in ST for imagers, with the objective to increase SPAD performances.  

The PhD student will:

- Integrate state-of the art and propose innovative pixel architectures 

- Perform TCAD simulations of the process and the design of the identified architectures

- Propose device design and implement it within a test-chip on a mask-set (MPW)

- Manage silicon lot within the fab

- Perform electro-optical caracterisation of the fabricated device.

Engineering school with Physics/microelectronics profile

Idealy 1st experience on SPADs as a trainee
