Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring that production consistently meets quality specifications and customer expectations. This will be achieved by actively monitoring process and quality parameters, by driving improvements in production process capabilities and by leading troubleshooting/problem solving efforts.

HSE
•Responsible for the application and adherence of HSE and PSM standards and guidelines.
•Participate in JHA, HAZOPS, incident investigation as needed
•Actively support Safety improvement initiatives as needed
Day to day Operations
•Monitor and analyze product performance via operational metrics, initiate corrective action to address unfavorable trends
•Manage production recipes
•Provide production engineering assistance to troubleshoot operational problems, quality issues, minimize unit interruptions and maximize asset utilization
•Work closely with Maintenance to resolve equipment reliability issues and with QC to ensure production meets quality specifications
•Provide production assistance during off-hours, as needed
Production Consistency
•Track Production and Quality KPIs eg. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), On Aim Quality etc.
•Lead initiatives to increase capacity, to improve process capabilities and/or to reduce costs
•Design and implement small improvement projects
Customer Support
•Lead and coordinate plant response and resolution for customer complaints
•Perform customer specification reviews: Collaboration with Technical Services Team and Account Management
•Quality liaison to Customer Support, Technical Services and Sales teams
Quality Management
•Support Supplier and Toller Quality as liaison to our suppliers on material specifications, product quality, and processing support. 
•Perform Periodic audits of Key Suppliers and Tollers to ensure quality standards are met
•Support the maintenance , improvement, and sustainability of ISO9001 Quality Management System

Make Improvements Sustainable
•Provide training for employees
•Develop and update written documentation about the production and quality processes. 
•Perform auxiliary duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

•BS degree in Chemical Engineering field of discipline
•Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility or in a technical engineering role
•Experience in polymerization technologies preferred

•1-3 years experience with ISO 9001 quality system  
•Six Sigma Greenbelt and certification from ASQ preferred
•Experience using six-sigma, big-data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•Self starter with ability to motivate teams as a leader or member
•Change Management skills
•Strong organizational skills with systematic approach
•Good oral and written communication
•Project management skills preferred
•Good computer skills – Microsoft Office, Google Suite, SAP

Skills:

•Experience using six-sigma, big-data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•Self starter with ability to motivate teams as a leader or member
•Change Management skills
•Strong organizational skills with systematic approach
•Good oral and written communication
•Project management skills preferred

•Reports operationally and administratively to the Production Manager
•Delegated authority of N+1 as required and assigned
•Ensure that health, safety, security and protection of the environment are given the highest priority in all activities performed at all locations within Solvay Specialty Polymers.
