The position leads process & quality engineering projects and activities to conduct continuous improvement activities, resolve chronic manufacturing & quality issues, introduce new products or re-site existing products, support new capital investments within Piedmont site, and align manufacturing techniques and practices, and technology among Composite Manufacturing sites.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

**This Position will have 3-6 months training at our Havre de Grace, Maryland Site and reside in Piedmont, SC long-term**
·  There will be 5 indirect Reports
·  Major Accountabilities:
·   Process control / variation reduction / waste reduction/Throughput improvement 
·  Product scale-up / new product introduction / product re-sites 
·  Chronic process issues and customer issue resolution 
·  Lead process engineering activities on capital projects 

Education and Experience:

·  Bachelor's Degree or higher in a mechanical or chemical discipline 
·  Minimum 4-7 years Process Engineering experience 
·  Willing to work 3-6 months in Havre de Grace, MD
·  Strong and disciplined project management skills (scheduling, budgeting, etc )
·  Experience championing Health & Safety
·  Experience managing small to mid-sized projects
·  Experience in coordinating production/development trials
·  Practical knowledge of 6 Sigma including: DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), Quality Function Deployment, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, process mapping, thought mapping, DOE, Lean and data collection/analysis
·  Demonstrated collaboration across different sites and/or cross functional groups
·  Experience resolving product and process capability issues in a manufacturing environment.
·  Ability to lead problem solving teams to address complex issues using the best industry practices and most cost effective solutions.  
·  Technical problem solving ability and experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
·  Flexibility to travel to other locations and work outside normal working hours as required by the projects.
·  Strong computer skills including: Google Docs, Sheets, Slides (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).

Skills:

Preferred Skills

·  Six Sigma Black Belt certification
·  Experience in composite material / adhesive material manufacturing or other similar continuous web process industries (paper, film, foil, or textile industries)
